My Story

Hello and welcome! My name is Cory Centric, and I'm the proud owner of Rocking Afrocentric.

It’s a bit hard to believe, but my obsession with African Wax print fabric began with a simple yet meaningful gift from my mother-in-law: six Wax Print tops she purchased for me in Ghana. At the time, I was born and raised in the UK, and it wasn't until later in life that I truly connected with my African roots. Those tops, though, sparked something deep inside me. They weren’t just clothing; they were a connection to a heritage I hadn’t fully embraced yet. From that moment, I became hooked — designing my own shirts and traveling across Europe and Africa to source fabric.

Whenever I wore one of my creations, the compliments poured in. People loved the cut, the style, the uniqueness of the fabric. It felt incredible, and I started to think, “Why not make this a business?” When the first Covid lockdown hit, I had a lot of time to reflect. I’d always had hobbies, but this felt different. The idea of turning my passion for Wax print into something more was starting to feel like the right move. I wanted to escape the rat race and create something meaningful that would allow me to share this vibrant culture with the world.

The plan was simple: design some men’s tops and set up a website. Fast forward two years, four website designers, and over 500 gift boxes stored in my garage, and here we are today — Rocking Afrocentric is finally alive and kicking.

I’ve poured my heart and soul into creating this collection of men’s and kids' wear. It’s been a true labor of love, and I’m so excited to share it with you. I hope you love these designs as much as I do. Every piece reflects the beauty, energy, and spirit of African culture, and I’m proud to be a part of this journey.

I hope that when you wear Rocking Afrocentric, you’ll feel just as confident, vibrant, and connected to your own roots as I do. It’s more than just clothing; it’s a celebration of culture, identity, and style.

Thanks for being here, and I can’t wait to see you “Rocking Afrocentric!”
